Day 159: Stratford

Spent the day in Stratford, one of my favorite places. We got to see Anne Hathaway's (Shakespeare's wife's) cottage just minutes before it closed for the day.

Day 158: Pond

Today we got to go see my duck pond, where I have been happily feeding bread crumbs to ducks since I was a wee one. Sadly there were no ducks today, but we still had fun.

Day 157: Drive

We spent Boxing Day driving from Orpington to Redditch, which was gorgeous. I took lots of pictures out the window.

Day 156: Christmas

Tim enjoying his Christmas pudding with brandy butter and cream. Happy Christmas!

Sunday, December 26, 2010

Day 155: Hever

Today we took Tim to Hever Castle, Anne Boleyn's childhood home. He is loving all the English history. It was an awesome day.

Saturday, December 25, 2010

Day 154: Chippy

Today Tim got his first taste of English fish & chips. He loved it!

Day 153: Orpington

Today Tim and I took a walk through the park near my Aunt's house, and then up and down the high street. I love England!

Friday, December 24, 2010

Day 152: Cake

We made it to my Aunty's house in Orpington - she has been busy cooking all week for us.

Day 151: Airport

I only managed to get a quick photo on my phone the day we were traveling to London. Amazingly all of us made it to Heathrow with no problems. Tim got on the only flight going out of Helsinki and met us at our gate. It was magical.

While we were sitting at our gate in Houston, a lady with a tiny little dog sat down next to us. My mom started chatting with her and realized she had accidentally brought two dog biscuits in her jacket pocket (they were for our dogs, who, when they realized they were being boarded, were not interested). Instead of throwing them away, she was able to give them to the tiny little thing that was freaking out about being carried around in a bag.

Day 150: Suitcase II

Off to England! We're hoping Heathrow can de-ice itself by tomorrow evening, but I'm expecting some delays. Isn't my Nanny's old suitcase just adorable?

Saturday, December 18, 2010

Day 149: Puppies

Tonight is our last night with the puppies before we have to take them to the kennel in the morning. They know something's up - they're being extra sweet and snuggly.

Friday, December 17, 2010

Day 148: Tree IV

My love of winter trees inevitably led me down to the giant tree in McBaine. Does anyone else just call it Big Tree?

Thursday, December 16, 2010

Day 147: Cuteness

I played around with my flash tonight and was able to get some cute snapshots of Mom and Trevor. I swear he knows how to smile for the camera!

(Happy birthday, Mike!)

Day 146: Gerbes

I've been wanting to get a photo of the Christmas lights in the Gerbes parking lot, but I was too cold and lazy to get out of my car. I need to work on this.

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

Day 145: Drive

I'm not going to say I took this photo while driving...but I'm not going to say I didn't.

Monday, December 13, 2010

Day 144: Winter

As I said - completely obsessed.

Sunday, December 12, 2010

Day 143: Moon

I can't stand this cold weather, but I am obsessed with the bare branches on the trees. I can't stop taking pictures of them!

Day 142: ThanksHalloweeMas

Saturday marked the first annual ThanksHalloweeMas celebration. Since my friends and I didn't get to celebrate Thanksgiving, Halloween, or Christmas (or really New Year's, either) together, we combined them all into one epic party. Halloween was really underrepresented, which I hope to change next year by showing up in costume.

Day 141: Lights

Friday was Thankshalloweemas Eve, which is traditionally spent decorating Megan's Christmas tree. By traditionally, I mean we made it a tradition on Friday :)

Day 140: Mike

This might be the greatest hat I have ever seen. Internet, meet my brother.

139: Traveler II

Naha wins for prettiest airport view. This is what Tim and I got to look at while we had breakfast. I will miss the ocean.

36 hours later, when I finally got home, it was still Wednesday (time travel is weird). Trevor was happy to see me.

Day 138: Suitcase

Ugh. I hate packing.

Monday, December 6, 2010

Day 137: Pedi III

My slightly Christmas-y pedicure from Cocoks! This one will have to tie me over until March.

Sunday, December 5, 2010

Day 136: Splash

Went to Cocoks today, and got some shots of the seawall after my awesome pedicure.

Saturday, December 4, 2010

Day 135: Pink II

I love these little pink flowers!

Friday, December 3, 2010

Day 134: Boots

Too bad my camera can't capture smell. Yikes.

Thursday, December 2, 2010

Day 133: Dinner II

Turkey burger on wheat bun, pepperjack cheese, spinach, red onion. YES.

P.S. Thanks, everyone, for the sweet comments yesterday!

Wednesday, December 1, 2010

Day 132: Abstract

I was going to take a photo of the cookies I just made, but they're not very pretty. They taste like cookies though, so...win.

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

Day 131: Dinner

I have been in love with Chicken Voilà since college. Now Tim is in love with it too.

Day 130: Crochet

Last night was the closest I have come to forgetting to take a photo since I started this project. I was actually getting into bed, ready to watch some Lost episodes with Tim, when I sat up and started chanting, "I have to take a photo! I have to take a photo!" Panicked, I snapped a shot of some of my latest crochet projects sitting on the dresser. Crisis averted.

Sunday, November 28, 2010

Day 129: Cones

Beautiful day for a walk.

Day 128: Fan

I can't stand seeing people be rude to store clerks. Particularly when the customer is a cocky, 18-year-old Marine who clearly thinks he's god's gift to humanity, and the clerk is an adorable old Okinawan lady. I always make sure I'm extra nice when I'm the next customer in line after that. Today it paid off when the adorable old Okinawan lady snuck an extra fan into my bag :) Serious warm fuzzies.

Day 127: Tim V

Tim and I spent some time at Araha Beach today, and he felt like showing off his Kindle.

Thursday, November 25, 2010

Day 126: Thanksgiving

I'm thankful for this guy.

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Day 125: Ocean

I have been in the habit of neglecting my zoom lens lately, so I took it for a walk today.

Day 124: Scarf III

I figured that if I'm planning to give scarves as Christmas gifts, I should probably get started...

Day 123: Champagne

Oh no big deal, just your basic Champagne Monday :)

Sunday, November 21, 2010

Day 122: Tree III

Just a pretty tree on my walk today.

Day 121: Sunset V

Crazy sky tonight! It went from orange to pink to night in about 10 minutes. That's our building in the bottom left.

Friday, November 19, 2010

Day 120: Scarf II

Behold, my latest creation! Finishing a crochet project is so satisfying, even if it's not perfect (they never are...).

Thursday, November 18, 2010

Day 119: Hydrant

I took my camera with me today on a walk to the shoppette. My mission: to acquire cold medicine for Tim. Apparently Marines do get sick. Don't tell him I said that.

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Day 118: Tub

I can't help but see a face in this....

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Day 117: Mop

More library time today, and more time to take photos while I waited for Tim to pick me up. I love the gritty look of all the concrete.

Monday, November 15, 2010

Day 116: Phone

After what seemed like weeks of just picking up my camera and photographing whatever was around for my post, this week I promised myself I would go outside and try to take great photos again. This is at least a first step (in other words...out of the BOQ).

Sunday, November 14, 2010

Day 115: Dew

See previous post for explanation of unrelenting laziness. I didn't even get up from my prime tv-watching location in the living room to take this shot.

Saturday, November 13, 2010

Day 114: Candle

Tim and I are having the laziest weekend ever. So lazy, in fact, that I have almost forgotten to take a photo several times. So here's a candle.

Friday, November 12, 2010

Day 113: Fish

Tim and I went out for sushi again tonight, which led to an impromptu trip to Yogurtland in American Village, which led to an impromptu trip to the Doctor Fish. For ¥500 (about $6), you get to stick your feet into a pool of these fish for 5 minutes. They nibble all the dead skin off of your feet and produce the most maddening tickling sensation. It's incredibly strange and wonderful.

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Day 112: Walk II

I got this shot of Tim walking as we were heading to the shop on a junk food run. I love long weekends. Happy Veterans Day.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Day 111: Ball II

Tim and I actually left the ball a little early tonight. It was kind of boring, and we wanted to come home and drink champagne and take pictures.
