Day 221: Cupcake

Cupcakes. From SCRATCH. That's right.

Day 220: Days

Today was just awesome. The adorable Day family let me follow them around the quad with my camera just capturing the magic. I'm guessing this one won't end up hanging over the fireplace, but it's one of my favorites. Thanks, guys! :)

Day 219: Light III

On Saturday Stephanie and I went to Osaka and I had intended to take a cool photo of my delicious sushi. I remembered that as I was enjoying the last bite. So here's a photo of the light above our table. Oops.

Day 218: Snow III

Ok, it's kind of pretty. But enough already!!

Day 217: Pupils

This morning I went to the eye doctor, who looks very much like Matthew Broderick, and he insisted on dilating my pupils. I'm surprised I even managed to get a shot of them, since I couldn't see anything closer than 2 feet away from me. Naturally, I went shopping afterward and probably freaked people out with my demon eyes.

Day 216: Opal VI

Opal has the cutest bark I've ever seen - it's so quiet and ladylike, but she gets so excited that her front legs come up off the ground with each bark.

Day 215: Tetley

While we were in Cincinnati, Amanda took us to this amazing liquor...superstore? It was called Party Source, and it had every type of beer you've ever imagined. When I saw Tetley's English Ale, which shares a name with our favorite tea bags, I had to buy some.

Day 214: Rain

On Monday morning we headed back to Missouri, and it pretty much rained in all four states on the way home.

Day 213: Pub

Incidentally, a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon in Cincinnati is to enjoy 10 oz. Scottish beers and fried pickles at an English pub.

Day 212: Bonobos!

Saturday Amanda took us to the Cincinnati Zoo, where they have bonobo chimps. I have been obsessed with bonobos since my anthropology classes in college. I was excited enough, but then we saw two babies playing together and I about lost it. Megan said that as I was taking these photos, I was just grinning like an idiot behind my camera. That sounds about right.

Day 211: Vandalia

If you find yourself on a road trip to Cincinnati, and you decide you want to pick up some fancy beer for your hostess, might I recommend not stopping in Vandalia, IL. They don't have any.

Day 210: Light II

There are several spots on my daily drive that I always want to stop and photograph, but I never do. Today I actually pulled over and shot for a bit at one of those spots. Hopefully I'll start doing this more.

Day 209: Park

Oh my, what a beautiful day today. I love the smell of those February days when the temperature gets up in the 60s. I had to go to the park and take a walk.

Day 208: Moon II

Pretty sky tonight as the moon rose. And was it just me, or did I smell a faint hint of spring?

Day 207: Tea

On Monday, I found myself needing some me time. I guess for me that means buying socks at Target and then a cup of tea at Starbucks. Whatever works.

Day 206: Opal V

This is my favorite Opal face - she hears something cool going on, but she doesn't want to get up and investigate because she's too comfortable.

Day 205: Snickelfritz III

Professor Eleanor Snickelfritz strikes a pose once again. This cat knows how to smize.

Day 204: Bottles

Some bottles of wine/champagne I've been holding onto for later.

Day 203: Card

More of my friends need to start having babies, so I can buy more adorable things like this.

Day 202: Pippin IV

This is the face Pippin makes when I'm making weird noises so that he will make faces at the camera. It's the dance we do.

Day 201: Snuggle

I decided my assignment for today was a self-portrait with no make-up, as a punishment for my foolishness on Sunday. This was the first time I played with my shutter release remote. Pippin, as always, was more than happy to join me for a little photo shoot.

Day 200: Arcade

I wanted Day 200 to be something really awesome, but my heart just wasn't in it today after yesterday's flub up. So here's an arcade game at Sub Shop. (The Sub Shop helped my mood substantially.)

Day 199: Fail

I knew this would happen eventually...I was just hoping it wouldn't.

I didn't take a photo for Day 199. Not one single photo. Nothing on the iPhone. Not even a screenshot.

I spent the whole morning today beating myself up for ruining my project. Then I started convincing myself that it's ok. The fact that I missed one day does not negate all the good this project has done for me (and is still doing). So! Onwards and upwards.

(Plus, technically, there have been two days where I took two photos because of the time change from Japan. Somehow in my head it makes this less horrible.)

Day 198: Dinner III

Mom made pub-style bangers and mash tonight (with veggie sausages, of course). It was as good as it looked!

Day 197: Icicles II

I'm getting pretty fed up of taking photos of ice and snow. Ready for the sun to come out!

Day 196: Blizzard III

Ugh. Still not going anywhere.

Day 195: Blizzard II

Un. Believable.

Day 194: Blizzard

Turns out it's hard to take pictures of a "snowpocalypse," which is what everyone is calling this storm. So most of my day was spent snacking, reading, and playing on the internet (snow days are mostly like regular days when you don't have a job).
