Day 40: Pizza
Mom and I made a killer dinner tonight. Whole wheat English muffin pizzas with olives and mushrooms and a tasty salad. I haven't gotten to cook in a while, so I very much enjoyed this.

Day 34: Thanks
I have spent the evening opening up the last of our wedding gifts and cards, and writing thank you notes. I feel very loved right now.

Day 31: Traveler
Traveling home from Japan to Missouri today, I kind of had two shots at August 22. This is one of the only pictures I took in the first 24 hours of August 22 (Day 31), before I traveled back in time. I took this quickly on my phone because I was excited to finally find the delicious jasmine tea that I love, which had eluded me the entire trip.
Then, home. After 30 hours of traveling, it's still August 22. Before sinking into my bed, I had to try out my new camera on the puppies. Even with the low light and not sleeping for over a day, I like this one of Mom and Pippin.

Day 22: Tortoise
Look at that face! Tim and I spent an amazing day at the beach at the Renaissance Hotel. As he was doing some recon looking for bathrooms, Tim found this seemingly random sandbox full of tortoises you could pick up and hold. Beautiful beach + adorable animals = GREAT day.

Day 19: Kasthamandap
Tim took me to dinner at one of my favorite Okinawa restaurants tonight, Kasthamandap Nepalese Kitchen. The food there is outstanding - tonight was two kinds of curry, hot & sour soup (soooo spicy!), chicken meatballs, and lots of garlic naan. The ambiance is just as great, with murals, sculptures, and cool chandeliers. I also tried an Indian beer called Kingfisher, which interestingly enough tasted very much like something from Flat Branch.

Day 18: Pedi
Oooh, I have happy feet right now. My friend took me for a pedicure at Cocoks tonight. They last about an hour and a half, including an amazing foot and leg massage. They do incredible artwork - there are many more extravagant designs than the one I got. These girls can do anything with that tiny little paintbrush. I have a feeling this will become a habit while I'm here.

Day 16: Zipline
Spent our adventure day at the Okinawa Adventure Park. I'm not a big zipliner, so I acted as photographer for the group. This is my husband on the course, channeling Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Day 13: Crab
Well look who wandered out of the jungle during my walk today. I had been very still for a few minutes trying to take some macro shots, and I heard something crawling towards me. It was so far away that I couldn't tell anything but the size - at first it looked like a small rodent. Finally I was able to get close enough to see this little guy. I love his eyes. Oh, and the fact that he's blue!

Day 11: Scarf
Yesterday I finished my second on-my-own crochet project. Mom still helped, of course, but I can say I did this one start to finish. Still not ready to do self-portraits yet, so the scarf got to act as a wine bottle cozy for this shot. I bought some yarn yesterday, so I'm ready to start my next crochet project!
