Day 119: Hydrant

I took my camera with me today on a walk to the shoppette. My mission: to acquire cold medicine for Tim. Apparently Marines do get sick. Don't tell him I said that.

Day 71: Wheel

I like this photo because it's so different from what I've been posting...namely flower, puppy, flower, puppy, flower, other animal, puppy....

Day 65: Fall

Fall is definitely here, and I love it.

Day 64: Bangs

You know when you tell your hair stylist about a crazy idea expecting her to tell you it would be terrible, but instead she says heck yes and does it and it looks awesome? That happened to me today. I'm getting used to (and loving) my new bangs.

Day 57: Bench

Spent some more time at Shelter Gardens this afternoon. I could take pictures there for hours.

Day 34: Thanks

I have spent the evening opening up the last of our wedding gifts and cards, and writing thank you notes. I feel very loved right now.

Day 25: Rebel

Holy. Crap. I have the best husband in the world. As an early birthday present, he took me to the PX tonight and bought me a new CAMERA. A Canon Rebel T2i. I am so giddy right now. So, I know I said I would be staying faithful to my G10 for this project, but...Rebel.

Day 20: Kitty

This is Garbage, our resident dumpster kitty. She/he let me get surprisingly close for this shot. I'm pretty sure she/he really wants to be friends with me, but feels she/he has to act cagey at first. We'll be BFFs soon.

Day 17: Wine

Um, we really like red wine in this house.

Day 15: Sunset III

I meant to use a picture of our sushi dinner tonight, but I thought this was pretty cool. I love the view of the sunset from the third floor of the BOQ.

Day 14: Marine

Once again, I left my photo until the end of the day, after dinner at the Mongolian grill. This actually made for kind of a cool shot, though. "Holga-ish" effect done in Picnik.

Day 8: Eye

Desperate for something to photograph before we head out to dinner. Yes, that is my eye, mascara globs and all! I wasn't quite ready for a full-on self-portrait yet. Cross-processing and vignetting done in Picnik.

Day 7: Tree

I am obsessed with this tree. Every time I go outside I take pictures of it. No matter what the light is like, or what camera setting I use, I can never get it to look quite right. Enter: Picnik. I added some vignetting and used the cross-processing effect.

Day 5: Garbage

I don't see these kind of trash cans much anymore. This is the first photo I've posted with some post-processing. I used Picnik (my new favorite thing on the internet) to boost the color here, but that's it. I had to restrain myself from adding a bunch of cool effects.
