Day 108: Memories

My feeble attempt at decorating this place. I printed out some happy memories and paper clipped them up around the apartment. I like being able to look up from the computer and see something that makes me smile.

Day 99: Kitchen

It was either this, or a photo of the blood splatter all over the kitchen. A Marine came by today to randomly deliver a new refrigerator and ended up slicing his finger open and bleeding everywhere. He had to go get stitches. But on the plus side, new fridge, so... All in all, a mixed day.

Day 88: Improvising

Here in the BOQ, our kitchen supplies are nothing to write home about. Our saucepan happens not to have a lid, so when I need to cover something while cooking, I use a cookie sheet. Tonight, in an unprecedented turn of events, I needed the cookie sheet for both stovetop cooking and baking. At a loss, I turned over an oversized Pyrex bowl on top of my pan. Voilà!

Day 82: Haircut

As it turns out, one of my wifely duties is cutting Tim's hair every week. It's quite a process for such a short cut. This is what Step 1 looks like.

Day 79: Tim III

Tim and I celebrated our 3 month anniversary today by lounging around in our pj's, watching movies, drinking wine, and dreaming about the future. This is Tim looking at a map of our future home in the Pacific Northwest.

This butterfly reminded me of a hummingbird the way he never stopped flapping his wings on this flower. That's why there's a little motion blur on his left wing, which I thought was kind of cool.

Day 26: Butterfly

Today I got to spend some quality time with my new T2i. A LOT of quality time. I accidentally got locked out of the BOQ for about 6 hours today with nothing but my new camera. No ID, no money, no cell phone...nothing. The good news is I got about 600 photos and learned a lot about my new Rebel (and dealing with frustration...). I am super impressed with it so far. Not sure how impressed it is with me yet - I have a lot to learn. I can't wait to keep experimenting!

Day 20: Kitty

This is Garbage, our resident dumpster kitty. She/he let me get surprisingly close for this shot. I'm pretty sure she/he really wants to be friends with me, but feels she/he has to act cagey at first. We'll be BFFs soon.
