Day 161: Ted

Meet Uncle Ted, my Grandad's brother. We rarely get to see him, so when we do, the stories just pour out. We heard about the time he spent working for MI5, our family history of gun making, his adventures in the Air Force, his ghost sightings, and the time Prince Philip told him to call him Phil. "You never know what's 'round the corner," he says.

Day 147: Cuteness

I played around with my flash tonight and was able to get some cute snapshots of Mom and Trevor. I swear he knows how to smile for the camera!

Day 109: Self-Portrait

A strange combination of variables led me to this very vulnerable self-portrait, with no make-up and crazy hair. I woke up feeling brave today, and happy. Also, I've been feeling inspired by Chookooloonks and her discussions of beauty (when will I stop finding new blogs to read?). She's awesome. So, here I am, internets!

Day 106: Ball

The Marine Corps Ball was actually pretty fun. Dinner wasn't that great, but I actually knew more people than I thought I would and there were good drinks. And I felt pretty. And there was just a little bit of Lady GaGa.

Day 93: Tim IV

Tim and I spent some time by the seawall before I got my pedicure today. I love this photo of him, not just because he's a stud, but because of the cool "photo within a photo" reflection of me in his sunglasses. You can bet there will be a picture of my pedicure on here tomorrow!

Day 73: Sheila

Had a great evening with my in-laws last night in Jeff City. This is their sweet beagle, Sheila.

Day 72: Stephanie

Stephanie and I went to Shelter Gardens for a short walk today. This shot was meant as a joke, because in the next frame she pretended to pick her nose, but I thought it actually turned out great. Isn't she pretty? :)

Day 62: Opal IV

Poor Opal had a rough day. Anytime she hears thunder she FREAKS out for hours and becomes your shadow (even following you into the bathroom). Since she stayed with me all day, I took some photos.

Day 59: Pippin II

I love this photo for so many reasons. The look on Pippin's face is absolutely priceless. Like I just told him something unbelievable and he's sizing me up. Also, the wide open aperture on my 50mm (1.8!) lens is just amazing. I love how only his eyes are in focus, and his nose and the background are blurred. I'm having so much fun experimenting with it.

Day 56: Snickelfritz

This is Stephanie's sweet kitty, Professor Eleanor Snickelfritz. She is the loudest and sweetest kitty I know.

Day 55: Tiger

I got to take my Rebel to the zoo for the first time this week. I took a little road trip to Springfield to visit Stephanie, and ended up at the Dickerson Park Zoo...twice :) It is one of my favorite places. This tiger was rolling around like a kitty and putting on a show for me. I'm so glad I'm finally able to capture photos like this now that I have my new camera.

Day 51: Mom

Today is my dear mum's birthday. We went for a walk with the dogs, had a nice dinner, some strawberry cake, and of course, some Star Trek. Good day.

I wanted to post a photo of the scarf I finished crocheting today, but I have to keep reminding myself that this project isn't about documenting my days - it's primarily about documenting my best photos. Nothing else I took today beats this one of sweet Trevor.

Day 45: Luna

Sunday evening we had a ladies' margarita night at my friend Angela's house. This is her sweet puppy Luna.
